Overview of the latest discoveries in Endometriosis research and the role of BIOMEDICA CRO in supporting scientific initiatives 🔬
Despite being prevalent, Endometriosis remains often undiagnosed, indicating a critical need for heightened awareness. Oxford University researchers, collaborating with 24 international teams, recently conducted the most extensive genetic study on Endometriosis to date. The group of scientists conducted a genome-wide association study involving over 60,000 individuals with Endometriosis and over 700,000 control subjects.
After researching data and biosamples, the study identified 42 genetic regions significantly linked to the disease, many of which relate to pain perception. Additionally, researchers found genetic correlations between Endometriosis and various pain conditions, suggesting potential shared mechanisms. These findings hold promise for developing targeted treatments and could change the focus from hormonal to pain-based therapies for managing Endometriosis.
Please find more information about this research on the Nature Genetics website, article “The genetic basis of endometriosis and comorbidity with other pain and inflammatory conditions.”
In light of these developments, we at BIOMEDICA CRO aim to highlight our full readiness to assist with further studies by providing high-quality human biological specimens and associated clinical data from diseased and healthy control subjects.
Order human biospecimens at BIOMEDICA CRO towards better diagnostics for Endometriosis and other gynecological disorders🩸
BIOMEDICA CRO has provided prospective and retrospective collections of the numerous human biospecimen types and associated clinical data since 2017.
We manage our own network of 50+ direct contracts with hospitals in many therapeutic areas and are ready to make a new one if necessary. Access to the gynecology departments allows us to supply biospecimens from subjects with various conditions. In regards to gynecological disorders, we are fully prepared to recruit subjects with the following diagnoses:
- Endometriosis;
- Cervical erosion;
- Leiomyoma;
- Polyps;
- Dysplasia;
- Vaginitis, other conditions;
- Healthy control group – age-gender-BMI matched to diseased patients, etc.
In addition to collecting human biospecimens, we also provide precise clinical data, laboratory test results, and other valuable information from each donor to assist you in achieving your research goals.
Although our pimary focus is on a prospective collection of human biospecimens, we also offer a diverse selection of ready-to-ship biosamples from our Inventory obtained from subjects with benign or oncological conditions.
BIOMEDICA CRO team takes pride in contributing to preclinical trials, in-vitro diagnostics and drug discovery. Should you require the services of an additional supplier of biospecimens for your research, we would be more than happy to cooperate!
📩 Please email us to start our collaboration and order biospecimens at office@biomedica-cro.com.
BIOMEDICA CRO team is fully committed to supporting you in every step of your journey. We would be delighted to discuss your project in detail, address any inquiries you may have, and tailor our support to meet your research goals.
