Bravery is in our DNA – BIOMEDICA CRO is ready to provide biospecimens for Endometrial, Breast, CRC, Prostate, and other cancer studies
The study from the University of Bristol is one of the first to find that for every 5 extra BMI units, a woman’s risk of Endometrial cancer is almost doubled (an increase of 88%). Researchers used Mendelian randomization (MR) to evaluate the causal role of 14 molecular risk factors (hormonal, metabolic, and inflammatory markers) in Endometrial cancer risk.
Strong evidence for a mediating role of fasting insulin, bioavailable testosterone, and SHBG in the effect of BMI on Endometrial cancer risk was found. These results suggest targeting of insulin-related and hormonal traits as a potential strategy for the prevention of Endometrial cancer.
Dr. Julie Sharp, head of health information at Cancer Research UK, said:
“More research is needed to investigate exactly which treatments and drugs could be used to manage cancer risk among people struggling with obesity. We already know that being overweight or obese increases your risk of developing 13 different types of cancer”.

BIOMEDICA CRO team is proud to participate in preclinical trials, biomarkers discovery, and the development of new therapeutic approaches to human disease. We are back to work and ready to provide all our knowledge and experience to support your current need in biospecimens.
Our primary area is oncology studies (Endometrial, Breast, Colorectal, Prostate, and other types of cancer). In addition, we have contracted 50+ sites and departments with different disease areas.
BIOMEDICA CRO is ready to make a contribution to scientific cooperation.
